Happy Birthday Kori

So, usually we go off and do something on facebook. Sometimes it involves blasts from the past such as:

Which was for your birthday last year, or, my personal favorite, when two years ago I made you an album on facebook in which the following pictures existed:

But through thick and thin (The font is now TARDIS blue!) we've always had a great time on both of our birthdays. And now that we're caught up with DW, you'll get to meet some pretty great people. I don't even want to post their pictures, but LOST is going to be amazing, and you're going to love it.

As for your actual birthday present, I'm still working on that. I'm writing you something. Something absolutely epic. And you'll love it so much, but it's going to take some time to get to you (Much like my video for The Week of Bookish Rain, eh?) so for now, you can be content with this little blog post. :D

Happy Birthday Kori!

NEW YORK CITY

Prologue:

Yeah, I did some exciting stuff last weekend too. It was very, very cool beans. I quite enjoyed myself. We went for three days, so I'm going to do five parts, six including this one, but they'll be kind of few and far between, because I'm also trying to finish a project... It was the kids in choir, orchestra and band, and a few of the piano kids were thrown in there too. Lots of fun. We competed. So, I'm going to give you a quick little character diagramy thing too. Just for fun. :D

Room-mates:
Emmaline (Emmie)
-Friend of mine
-In Madrigals with me (Will be referred to as Mads)

Libby
-She's cool.
-In band

Katie
-In mads and orchestra
-Pee-your-pants-funny.

Those are just my room-mates. Room 313 FTW!

Room 311 (our adjoined room)
Nicole
-Had some problems with her earlier in the year, but we're friends now.
-In band

Megan
-In band
-Funny as hell

Grace and the other girl that I don't talk to... Yeah... Um... Don't remember her name, but I don't really talk to them that much, so... yeah. Lmao.

Bus People
Jack
-My best friend
-Cool guy. :D

Bri and Lauren
-In Mads with me
-They're cool

Gabe
-Funny guy.
-Not annoying at all.

Chaperones
-Mrs. Riley (My chaperone, but we were combined with Mr. Riley's group too.)
-Mr. Riley (Band teacher. Emmie and Jack's dad)
-Miss Russell (Mads teacher. Love her.)
-Mrs. McKenzie (Piano teacher, but she's sooooo funny.)

There were more, but I'll explain them as I go if necessary.

ROBOTICS: PROLOGUE

You already know the basics about robotics, seeing as I barely have spoken about anything else over the past few months. In order to understand half of what went on at Robotics Competition, you have to at least know the characters involved and a bit about them. Pay attention to which room each person is in and whether or not they are a part of pit crew and/or drive team; knowing what they were involved in will likely aid in the understanding of my ramblings of prose.

The Mentors:
I'm only going to mention 3 in my tales, and you don't even need to know that much about them (just know that they are the adults), but here are the 3 that affected my robotics experience the most:

Bassett: My main mentor, worked with electronics and programming team. One of the more awesome people over the age of 30 whom I've ever met.

Sarver: The driver of the van I was in, mentor for the business team.

Frable: The only other mentor whom I know decently well. Works at Boeing. He seems to think I'm a decent person.
________________________________________________________
Basic Info about AFROC members:

Room A (Room Number 314, yes, the pi room)
Ray, Zack, Jordan, and Shane
(The first three being the seniors whom I love veryveryveryvery much. Though I've attempted to tell them, I doubt they grasp how awesome they've made this year for me).

Over these 3 days, this room had more awesome contained in it than I will ever hope to encounter for the rest of my life.

Ray:
Senior
Robotics Club President
Obv. in Pit Crew
Obv. on Drive Team (overseer)
Programming Sub-Team
Zack:
Senior
Fabrication Sub-Team

Jordan:
Senior
Design Sub-Team

Shane:
Soph.
Design Sub-Team

Room G (for girl, original, eh?)

Kori:
Myself, obv.
Junior
Part of Pit Crew
Part of Drive Team (Trident)
Programming Sub-Team

Madeline:
Senior
Business Sub-Team

Deona:
Senior
Business Sub-Team

Kinsey:
Senior
Business Sub-Team

I really forget who was in each of the other rooms, because all of my time was spent in the above two, but here are the other amazing people who were part of this:

I wanna say that the room combos were Sean-Dan-Austin-Robert and Brent-Josiah-Trevor-Justin, but that can be totally wrong

Trevor
Soph
I assume he was on Fabrication.
Justin
Soph
Part of Pit Crew
Part of Drive Team (Back Up Driver)
Electrical Sub-Team
Robert
Freshie
Part of Pit Crew
Fabrication Sub-Team
Josiah
Senior
Part of Pit Crew
Part of Drive Team (Main Driver)
Fabrication Sub-Team
Brent
Senior
Part of Pit Crew
Occasionally took my job on Drive Team
Fabrication Sub-Team
Sean
Freshie
Part of Pit Crew
Programming Sub-Team
(If I ever refer to anyone as "creepy freshman", this is who I am talking about, more on that later)
Dan
Soph.
Part of Pit Crew
Fabrication Sub-Team
(May be referred to as "the Russian.")
Austin
Soph.
Fabrication Sub-Team

(For those who I wasn't sure which team they were on, I wrote fabrication, seeing as I know Electrical and Programming very well, and I think that Shane and Jordan were the only official ones on design. There was a lot of going back and fourth. The team isn't incredibly relevant, but it shows whom I knew better prior to all of this (meaning I had spent the most time with Ray Sean and Justin. The order of knowing people after that point is simply determined by how often they went to robotics and how often we spoke.)

And those are the characters in my story.

Let the tales commence!

ROBOTICS

And now I shall begin to tell all of the awesome stories that was ROBOTICS.

There shall be 5 posts: Prologue, Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Epilogue.

Each post will be divided into several parts, depending on what was accomplished that day.

The prologue will just be a basic outline of all of the characters in this series of stories.

Enjoy, Sio, Enjoy.

Rationale

So, it's obviously obvious of why I cannot call this prom date of yours Zach. I will explain this using a mixture of logic and nonsense, and I type exceptionally slow because of my wrist.

1. I have a desire to call him Bear Rider, which is entirely his fault. Should one choose to ride a bear, and give flowers, they therefore earn the name bear rider. If I posted a picture of myself riding a cow, I would be called Cow Rider. This is the name that he has chosen for himself, though indirectly, I'm sure he did not realize that a fifteen year old from Connecticut would use that picture to determine the rest of his life with a nickname.

2. Zach reminds me of Zach Little, who is cool. I'm not saying that he's not cool, I'm just saying that he's... Yeah. I'm not finishing that sentence. I refuse to associate them in my brain, and therefore, no Zach.

3. He plays Nethack, which pushes him lower on the status quo, so... Ya know. Zee it is...

4. Zee rhymes with bee, and and bee is like Bear. Bear Rider connected to Zee? Yes. Yes it is.

5. I lost the game.

It all works out.
